Bob Glauber says the Jets might keep Mark Sanchez through training camp.
League source: #Jets expected to retain QB Mark Sanchez into preseason, let him compete for starting job. Sanchez to show up for work tomw.

It is unclear how much this really means. Glauber indicates he isn't getting this from anybody associated with the team. It reads like somebody in the league without inside information is guessing what the Jets will do.
I don't really see any reason for keeping Sanchez. What good does it do? Geno Smith is the quarterback of the future now. If he isn't ready to go, the Jets have a steady veteran in David Garrard or even Greg McElroy to throw out there. The biggest effect of bringing Sanchez to camp would probably be creating a distraction that could unsettle Geno. Plus it tempts Rex Ryan to start him with "best chance to win" thinking. I think we've all seen enough of Sanchez.
