We recently found out the four opponents the Jets will face in the preseason, but we did not have dates and times. The team announced them today.
The summer schedule gets under way at Detroit on Friday night, Aug. 9. The kickoff for the fifth-ever preseason matchup between these teams and their first since 2005 is set for 7:30 p.m. EDT and the game will be televised in the New York area on WCBS-TV, Channel 2.
The home preseason opener against Jacksonville is set for Saturday, Aug. 17. The first preseason meeting between the Jets and Jaguars will also start at 7:30.
The 45th annual Jets-Giants preseason game, and the third MetLife Bowl game of the series, is a Jets "road game" at MetLife Stadium at 7 p.m. This is the only Green & White preseason game that won't be shown in the New York market on WCBS but rather on WNBC, Channel 4.
The preseason concludes Thursday, Aug. 29, at home against Philadelphia with a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Jets and Eagles are meeting for the preseason finale for the 13th consecutive summer.
