According to Kristian Dyer, the New York Jets are not looking at QB Geno Smith, should he fall to them a the ninth overall pick. However, the more interesting part of Dyer's article is about the Jets' interest in QB Zac Dysert out of Miami (Ohio). The Jets have expressed interest in Dysert previously, and while it is of course possible that their interest is a smokescreen, it is certainly noteworthy if true.
I've made no secret of my love of Dysert, and I would be thrilled if the team were to draft him anywhere from rounds 2-4. Dysert may be the most pro-ready quarterback in the draft, and as Dyer's source states:
But he has good intangibles and he’s accurate, something [Jets offensive coordinator] Marty Mornhinweg would like in that West Coast offense. He might emerge as the Jets quarterback this draft.
Don’t let his numbers fool you, I think he could be the steal at quarterback in this draft.
Would you be upset if the Jets drafted Dysert?
