Revis Trade Rumors: Trade Put on Pause

Robert Laberge

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio says the pause button has been hit on a potential Darrelle Revis trade. Hat tip to the one and only Florio.

Sal Paolantonio of ESPN reports that the Jets are pressing the “pause button” on the possibility of trading Revis to the Buccaneers. Per Paolantonio, the Bucs are offering “multiple picks,” which includes their 2013 first-round selection.

We reported last week that, despite a perceived dispute between the two teams regarding whether the first-round pick would come from the 2013 or 2014 draft, the Buccaneers were willing to send this year’s first-rounder, the 13th overall selection.

My take: This seems to be one big game of chicken. The Jets seem to be waiting for the last minute before the Draft, hoping they can get the Bucs to up their offer or perhaps attract another bidder to get more. If the Bucs were going to upgrade their cornerback spot before the Draft, they probably would have done it by now so this is all a waiting game over the next week and a half or so.
