Josh Martin DE/OLB Columbia

On March first, when GGN ran the pro day schedules (, I mentioned that I wanted to see Columbia's pro day because of Josh Martin. Obviously playing at Columbia, Martin is a long shot to make the NFL. However given that I live about 1000 feet from Columbia's football stadium and went to every home game as a means of cheap entertainment with the family, I got to see Martin play a lot and was very impressed. It now seems the Jets are also impressed. It turns out that Martin already performed at the Rutgers pro day, and killed it (he will perform again on Tuesday at Columbia). In addition to putting up 28 reps on the bench press, Draft Insider had this to say about his performance (

"Lost in the shuffle of last week’s Rutgers pro-day was the performance of Columbia defensive end/outside linebacker Josh Martin. Measuring 6024/246, Martin timed the forty between 4.67s-to-4.70s, touched 37-inches in the vertical jump then timed 4.41s in the short shuttle and 7.28s in the 3 cone. Scouts were pleased that Martin, who primarily lined up at defensive end for Columbia, measured over 6′ 2” (he was listed at 6′ – 1.5″ prior to the season). He will workout again during Columbia’s pro-day on April 2nd. Sources tell me the New York Jets have shown an exceeding amount of interest in Martin."

I wanted to see if this was just BS, but it seems that the Jets have made contact with Martin ( is Walter's list of Jets meetings/interviews:
