New York Jets Interested in Jake Scott

USA TODAY Sports

Scout.com reports the Jets have shown interest in free agent guard Jake Scott.

Veteran NFL offensive guard Jake Scott visited the New York Jets on Thursday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

He wasn't immediately signed to a contract, though.

Scott played for the Colts from 2004 to 2007, the Titans from 2008 to 2011, and the Eagles last season.

The 31 year old still seems to have something in the tank. Bleeding Green Nation said the following of Scott's play last year back in February.

He filled in capably for Danny Watkins in the last half of last year.

Scott seems like a solid hold the fort type. Willie Colon is the only experienced guard the Jets have on the roster, and he is extremely injury prone. The Jets can offer Scott a ton of playing time. If his demands are reasonable, this could be a good fit.
