Outside linebacker Victor Butler has signed with the Saints.
Nice pickup in New Orleans: Saints plan to sign Cowboys LB Victor Butler.

Butler was thought to be a Jets free agent target. Interest from the Jets seemed to dry up once they signed Antwan Barnes. It was never really clear why. Even if we are to believe that Barnes can hold up as anything more than a situational pass rusher, there is still a gaping hole at the other outside linebacker spot. Either Garrett McIntyre or Ricky Sapp is projected as the starter as of this moment. That is troubling. Dollar figures are not immediately available. Perhaps Butler was asking for too much.
Butler was effective in a backup role in Dallas. When he was on the field he produced. He was just stuck behind talent, namely outside linebackers DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer.
