The former Baltimore Raven and Jacksonville Jaguar safety is visiting the New York Jets today, along with TE Fred Davis, as we mentioned earlier. Could the Jets be going from one Landry to another?
Landry is a strong safety, and would fill a need at a position the Jets are thin at, with Josh Bush and Antonio Allen slated to start. He is a reliable run-stopper but struggled this past season in coverage. He doesn't have the temperament of LaRon Landry, but he's still a consistent hitter. I'd love to have him (and Fred Davis, if GM John Idzik can swing both).
Michael Huff signed earlier with the Ravens for three years, $6M. That's a good template, and it seems likely the Jets could get Landry for even cheaper. I'd like to see this signing.
