2013 NFL Mock Draft: Chance Warmack to the Jets

USA TODAY Sports

SB Nation's Dan Kadar has his latest mock draft out. He has the Jets taking Alabama guard Chance Warmack.

The goal for the Jets this season is to run the ball with free agent signing Mike Goodson. They added Willie Colon to the offensive line, but need to find parts for the interior. There’s no better option in the draft this year than Warmack. He’s a brutish blocker that can play right or left guard and start as a rookie.

Luke Joeckel, Geno Smith, Sharrif Floyd, Star Lotulelei, Eric Fisher, Dee Milliner, Barkevious Mingo, and Dion Jordan are the first eight off the board in this mock.

Even with names like Jarvis Jones, Ziggy Ansah, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Tavon Austin on the board, I agree with this pick. More and more, I'm starting to feel like Warmack should be the guy for the Jets. He's probably the surest thing in this Draft to step in immediately and be one of the very best at his position for eight to ten years. He's the rare guard who is so good that he projects to be an impact player.

Plus, the Jets are going to be able to pound the ball on anybody with a line that goes Ferguson-Colon-Mangold-Warmack-Howard.
