Baltimore Ravens beat writer Aaron Wilson reports the Jets had former Jets defensive lineman Ropati Pitoitua in for a visit.
Defensive end ropati pitoitua visited his old team on friday meeting with the new york jets
Pitoitua was a casualty of the team picking Quinton Coples in the first round. He was with Gang Green from 2008 to 2011. He spent 2012 with the Kansas City Chiefs.
At 6'8" 315 pounds, he is a mountain of a man. He never quite developed into the beast Rex Ryan predicted he would be. Ropati has never become much of a pass rusher, but he does a decent job holding the point of attack against the run.
Defensive line depth has taken a big hit in recent weeks with the losses of Sione Pouha and Mike Devito. Pitoitua would be a cheap way to bolster the unit with a player who already knows the defensive system.
