I spoke to our eminent friend Sander Philipse over at Bucs Nation in an effort to come up with a hypothetical trade between the New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over cornerback Darrelle Revis. John Idzik, I know you're reading, so feel free to borrow our idea. I promise we won't mind. Here's the proposal that we agreed to:
The Jets:
Receive the Buccaneer's 2013 third round draft selection.
Receive the Buccaneer's 2014 first round draft selection.
Receive LaGarrette Blount.
The Buccaneers:
Receive All-World cornerback Darrelle Revis.
So that's the trade. What do you think? Would you be willing to accept that deal? The idea is that the the strength of this draft is in the 2nd-4th round, while the 2014 draft will be very top heavy, especially in terms of quarterbacks. These picks would play into the strengths of the drafts. As for Blount, he has decent upside and is better than almost any sixth or seventh round draft pick the Jets might otherwise get.
