Bucs beat writer Rick Stroud says the Buccaneers are apparently unimpressed with free agent cornerbacks.
Bucs think very, very little of the FA CB class, including Sean Smith. As some values come down, they may sign one but not a guarantee

This would probably go hand in hand with their rumored interest in Darrelle Revis. Clearly this is all speculation, but it would seem to play to the Jets' advantage if Tampa Bay is unimpressed with its options. It would indicate they really want Darrelle Revis since he is the best corner available. The Bucs really, really need a corner.
They could also draft a cornerback, but rookies at the position frequently struggle. It would be tough to expect immediate production there.
Don't read more into it than what is there. This could give the Jets a bit of leverage. Nothing more, nothing less.
