LaRon Landry, who was on a one-year deal with the New York Jets, has signed with the Indianapolis Colts on a four-year deal. The contract is worth $6 million per year with $14m guaranteed. That's $24m total. Many people, like myself, wanted the team to re-sign Landry. He brought a ferocious attitude to the Jets that we haven't seen since 2009/2010.
Unfortunately, Landry's play this past year priced him out of our range. I'm not upset with GM John Idzik for not re-signing him at the expense of precious cap space. Right now, we're going to need cheaper alternatives, and Landry was simply a luxury that we could not afford. Bernard Pollard, perhaps?
Thanks for the memories, Dirty Thirty.
