Philadelphia Inquirer writer Jeff McClane says the Eagles are no longer pursuing Darrelle Revis.
The Eagles made overtures to the Jets about trading for cornerback Darrelle Revis, according to league sources, but they took themselves out of the running for one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Indications were that Revis was headed to Tampa Bay for several draft picks.
The assumption that Revis is going to Tampa Bay is very premature. Trades in the NFL can hit snags over minor details. Reports are that the Jets have not even allowed Revis to talk to the Buccaneers about a new contract, which isn't a minor detail. It's a major detail and probably necessary for any trade to be completed.
The teams interested in Revis and the favorite to land him is liable to change many more times before the cornerback is actually traded to a new team for the 2013 season.
