Jason LaCanfora reports the Kansas City Chiefs signed Chase Daniel.
Chiefs agree to terms with QB Chase Daniel - Jets were very interested in him too. Likely to be worth over $3m per year
Daniel would have had a shot to start with the Jets. He has little chance to start in Kansas City considering what the Chiefs gave up for Alex Smith. It must have come down to the money.
If it was about the money, I am glad the Jets showed restraint. $3 million is too much for a guy with 9 career passes and questions about whether he has the physical tools to play well. The odds are better the Chiefs just paid $3 million a year to another Greg McElroy than them paying for a quality quarterback. I wouldn't have minded Daniel as part of a competition, but not at a crazy price like the one Kansas City just paid.
