The 2013 season comes to a close today as the Jets make their annual trek to South Florida to take on the hated Dolphins. The Jets are in the role of spoiler. New York will not be in the postseason for a third consecutive year. The Dolphins are very much alive for a Playoff spot. They need to win and get help. That help involves either the Bengals beating the Ravens in Cincinnati or the Chargers beating a Chiefs team with nothing to play for in San Diego.
One of those two outcomes clinches a Playoff spot for the Dolphins combined with a win today. It seems likely they will get the help they need, meaning the Jets might be the last thing standing in the way of a Miami postseason or a fifth straight year of no Dolphins in the Playoffs.
