The status of Cleveland's Joe Haden, one of the game's best cornerbacks, is unclear Sunday due to a hip injury.
Perish the thought of the Browns’ slumping defense without cornerback Joe Haden, but it’s a real possibility for Sunday’s game in MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets.
Haden was still in pain on Monday after suffering a hip pointer – or deep bruise to his hip – in the third quarter of Sunday’s 38-31 loss to the Bears.
With both teams playing out the string, one cannot help but wonder how cautious the Browns will be. If Haden is hurt a little, the prudent course might be to shut him down for the year and let him get healthy for the offseason program rather than risk exacerbating the problem.
For a Jets passing game that can use all the help it can get, not having to go up against Haden would be something of a relief.
