For the second consecutive season, the New York Jets have placed wide receiver Stephen Hill on season-ending injured reserve, the team announced today.
We have placed WR Stephen Hill (knee) on Injured Reserve.

Hill, a player the Jets expected to develop this season, ends the year with 24 catches, 342 receiving yards and just one touchdown catch. After his Week 4 concussion in Tennessee, Hill never looked the same, catching just 11 balls for 109 yards and no touchdowns.
As someone who was supposed to be the deep threat at 6'5, Hill only caught five balls thrown over 20 yards this season. You can put some of that onus on the quarterback situation, but at the end of the day, Hill became a total non-factor over the last few months, going weeks at a time without a catch or even a target.
Wide receiver is already a huge area of need for the Jets approaching the offseason, and with Hill still being an unknown after two years, he'll be entering a make or break season in 2014 after an incredibly disappointing 2013 campaign.
