Thursday Night Football Open Thread

Stacy Revere

You can't really blame the league for this one. The NFL has produced an absolutely brutal schedule of Thursday night games this year. This one is different. At the start of the year, it looked like a battle of two NFC South superpowers, a game with critical significance in the conference's Playoff race. Either the Falcons or the Saints has been the top seed in the NFC Playoffs in three of the last four seasons. Even if one was having kind of a down year, they at least should be tough outs.

That hasn't happened. The Saints are off to a great start and are holding up their end of the bargain, but Atlanta, a team that was ten yards from the Super Bowl last year, has fallen off the face of the earth. The Falcons are 2-8 and looking forward to the Draft. Perhaps against a fierce rival they can muster up a big effort at home.
