The Bills have declared wide receiver Robert Woods is out of Sunday's game.
Robert Woods will not play Sunday vs. Jets, Marrone says. "I'm not going to string you guys along all week on him," he says.— Mike Rodak (@mikerodak) November 13, 2013
Woods is a rookie from USC the Bills picked in the second round of April's NFL Draft. He ranks third on the Bills with 26 receptions and 349 yards. He also has a pair of touchdown receptions.
He has been dealing with an ankle injury that kept him out of last Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. With leading receiver Stevie Johnson's status uncertain, the Bills might be going to battle with a depleted receiving corps. It gets even worse for Buffalo. Rookie E.J. Manuel looked shaky on Sunday in Pittsburgh in his return to action from a knee injury. A rookie without his receivers against a Rex Ryan defense with extra time to prepare is a scary proposition.
