With the season-ending injuries to Mark Sanchez and Antwan Barnes, there is some good news with the Jets today as Geno Smith has been named as the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his stellar performance against the Falcons.
Smith played his best game as a pro as he went 16-for-20 (80%) with 199 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 turnovers and a game-winning drive on Monday night in Atlanta.
This is the first time that Smith has won the award and if he continues to play like that, it won't be his last. Smith won the award over players such as Peyton Manning and T.Y. Hilton, both of whom had big performances on Sunday.
