Ryan Spadola has cleared waivers.
No one claimed Ryan Spadola off waivers #nyj
— Brian Costello (@BrianCoz) October 7, 2013
In case you are unfamiliar with the name, Spadola was an undrafted free agent rookie from Lehigh. He plays wide receiver. He did enough in training camp and the preseason to make the active roster at the start of the 2013 season, but the team cut him a few days ago.
Since the Jets let Spadola go, every team had a chance to claim him and add him to their roster. Nobody did. That is not much of a surprise. Spadola was undrafted this year. If any team thought he was that good of a prospect, they probably would have burned a late round pick on him.
This clears the way for the Jets to sign Spadola to the practice squad and continue to try and develop him into an NFL contributor.
