Jets Stay Quiet at Trade Deadline

Eric P. Mull-US PRESSWIRE

The NFL trade deadline for 2013 has passed, and the Jets made no movement. That was not unexpected. This team was not one player away so the only way it would have made sense would have been a deal for a young player who could have been a long-term foundation player.

Josh Gordon of Cleveland would have fit the bill there, but it is not clear he was ever a realistic target. Even if he was, the Browns might have asked for the moon for a 22 year old who is currently lighting up the league.

The team you saw in the first half of the season is going to be the team you see for the second half of the season. Hopefully the Jets can build on the things they did well in the first eight games and improve upon the things they did poorly.

Do you have any regrets about the deadline passing?
