It does not get much uglier than that. The Jets ended the first half of the 2013 season today with a 49-9 blowout loss at the hands of the Bengals. The Jets have neither won two in a row nor lost two in a row yet this season. The wild fluctuations between good and bad outings indicate an average, inconsistent football team. If you want some silver lining, that is better than many expected.
I wish I could say I was more upset about this one, but you could see it coming. It was a tough road game after an emotional victory. The Bengals also presented the Jets with a lot of matchup problems, which they fully exploited to their credit. The degree of this beating was disappointing, but a few bad plays early just snowballed.
Every team has a game or two a year where absolutely nothing goes right. The Jets had their first one in Tennessee. The second was today. The official recap will be up tonight.
