Welcome back my friends.
This has been a close one. The Jets started the game with control over both sides of the ball. The first quarter was very well managed and the defense has been stout. In the second quarter Ben Roethlisberger started to move the ball through the air, however the Jets defense has remained strong and not broken or given up any touchdowns. As expected the Jets run defense is a wall of man meat, this has forced the Steelers to be somewhat one-dimensional on offense so far. The Jets made a nice drive at the end of the half to add another thee points, largely thanks to Stephen Hill, who took a brutal shot from Troy Polamalu.
Besides an accidental horse tackle on a Steelers receiver, the Jets have largely played clean and are not committing penalties, unlike the Steelers who have yellow flags flying all over the place. The Steelers effort on both sides of the ball has been seriously hampered by their mistakes today, especially in terms of penalties.
Steelers lead 9-6 at the half.
