Brian Costello has some less than stellar news about the receiving corps.
Jets will sign WR David Nelson today, per source. Santonio Holmes expected to miss a few weeks with hamstring injury. #nyj

Hamstrings are tricky so it is tough to say when Holmes will be back. He is a pretty significant loss, though, as he is by Jets receiver standards a game breaker.
I think the Jets did all right by landing Nelson. When looking for scraps on the waiver wire at this time of year, there are never going to be great solutions. Nelson, a former Bill, is at least a big target and a pretty tough receiver. He is two years removed from a 61 reception, 5 touchdown season and is only 26 years old. He probably will not be much of a big play threat, but he can be a better option than the Clyde Gates, Ben Obomanu, Ryan Spadola trio.
