So, we have had some roster moves lately. The first and most infamous is that we have cut P T.J. Conley. Rex Ryan has said that he was unhappy with the inconsistency that Conley has shown, and as a result, less than a week before the first game, he was cut. To replace him, we have signed former Chargers P Robert Malone. Ryan said that he was impressed with Malone's power, and was able to hit the ceiling five times during his tryout (no word on if the tryout was held outdoors or in a closet). In any case, Malone will feel the pressure quickly as he steps into the first game against the Buffalo Bills with very few practices. We will see how quickly Mike Westhoff can work his magic. If there's anything you can trust about the New York Jets, it's that they'll give you heart palpitations.

Another interesting note is that the Jets have cut LB Ricky Sapp from the practice squad, and replaced him with CB LeQuan Lewis. There's not much to make out here, since it is the practice squad, but I know some of you have an affinity for Sapp. So there's that.

Other things to note, are that Marcus Dixon is back, Bilal Powell has beat out Joe McKnight for the third-down back position, and that the Jets have been lining Aaron Maybin up offsides in practice to simulate Mario William's speed. Let's hope Austin Howard/Jason Smith are up to the task.

Update: Chaz Schilens has received a lot of criticism from GGN so far. It's worth noting that he's schedule to play on Sunday.
