I hope you guys are keeping an eye on www.sbnation.com/nfl as we as a network are putting out some great content at the moment and if you are bored with reading the same old stories on ESPN, this offers a great break.

Saying that, SB Nation NFL editor Joel Thorman put out a great piece about why each AFC team can feel confident about making the post-season:

The Jets will make the playoffs once Rex Ryan gets the defense right again. Three years ago they were the top ranked defense, two years ago it was the sixth ranked defense and last year it was 20th. Ryan will fix that and return the Jets defense to elite status. I would say more about the quarterbacks, but their role should be to just not screw it up. Perhaps Sanchez and Tebow can do just that.

Very basic, but I agree. I think that we did lose our way on defense a little last year and we were missing some vital components. Pass rush, general speed and any resemblant of decent safety play. Landry and Bell are not long term solutions, however they are decent safeties and Landry can be elite if he stays healthy. We drafted Josh Bush and Antonio Allen who I have high hopes for. We drafted Demario Davis and Quinton Coples to improve speed and Coples to improve pass rush. We are not the finished article, but I'm willing to bet that we end the season in the top five with total defense.

Offensively he has hit the nail on the head. The Quarterback is and should go back to game managing and the real job there is to not turn the ball over and make silly mistakes, don't make the defense have to do more work that they have to. However we finished the year last year at 8-8 and if you look at this roster right now and you don't believe that we are better offensively, defensively and with our coaching, well pass me your number so I can book you in for a cat scan.

I'm confident of the Jets making the post-season, are you?
