Rookie wide receiver Stephen Hill is working with Broncos wide receiver and college teammate Demaryius Thomas.

Hill said Thomas and Lions receiver Calvin Johnson, another Georgia Tech alum, have served as mentors to him. Johnson did not play in Paul Johnson’s triple-option attack, though. Thomas has experienced the transition Hill is now going through.

Hill was frequently compared with Thomas leading up to the Draft. Both have excellent size and speed and were exceptionally raw entering the league because they played in a triple option offense that asked them to do few of the things pro wideouts do. Having Thomas will be an asset. The Broncos receiver cannot turn Hill into a star on his own, but he can provide some pointers that will make the transition easier. It is also good to see Hill seek out Thomas and Johnson. It shows he is taking his job seriously and understands the challenges that await him.
