I would just like to thank Revis for taking the spotlight off of Tebow and Sanchez. Here is what our beloved, All Pro CB had to say.
"I just don't know," said Revis. "I'm not saying I am going to holdout. I'm not saying I'm not."
With that said, let the madness begin. Everyone is going to think the worst right now, and I don't blame you. Revis could go down as the best player to ever wear green and white. If there is any news that he is unhappy, people are going to sweat. When Revis signed his band-aid extension, it was known that we will be back in contract talks sooner than everyone would like.
There are two groups of thought. In one corner, there are the people that believe Revis is one of the best players in the NFL, and deserves to be paid. In the other corner, there are the people that think he is selfish, and shout just finish out his contract. Each group can argue until they are blue, no one will be right or wrong.
The Jets did something very smart when they extended Revis. They added a clause that would add years to his deal if he holds out. This means, the Jets can take a hard line with Revis, and let him sit if he wants. His rights would be with the Jets until his prime starts to pass him by. Of course if the things go that way, we would be without Revis. Both sides would be in a bad place if things get that bad. It would be in everyones best interest to get something down as soon as possible. With so much at stake for both sides, I doubt it gets as ugly as it did in 2010. I don't believe anything will be done this off season by either camp, so everyone should calm down until there is actually something to worry about.
