The Jets have four primetime games, including a Thanksgiving night showdown with the Patriots in the Meadowlands. The Sunday Night game against the Chargers Week 16 could be flexed to the afternoon, though, depending on whether a more compelling matchup emerges.

I am not thrilled with the way things panned out. Facing defenses like Buffalo's revamped unit, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and Houston was not what the doctor ordered. Mark Sanchez's confidence is a fragile thing right now after a rough end to the season. I would have preferred an early schedule with soft AFC South and NFC West teams. It is important for him to get things going early. Early success can boost his confidence, and things can snowball. This is a difficult start. On the same note, this team could be in line for a big year if it can survive its early hurdles.

One good note is that the bye comes before a long trip to Seattle. It might be the league's way of making up for sending the Jets to Denver for a Thursday game after a Sunday primetime game last year.
