The Jets did not use their franchise tag on anybody prior to yesterday's deadline. Many teams did, though. The safety market in particular, where the Jets figure to be shoppers, took a big hit as Michael Griffin, Tyvon Branch, and Dashon Goldson were all tagged and will now hit free agency. It not only takes away options from the Jets. By the laws of supply and demand, it drives up the price on players who will hit the market.
