Bruce Irvin To Visit Jets Before Draft

Apologies that this is a little late, SB Nation informed us that West Virginia Bruce Irvin is set to make a number of visits prior to the 2012 draft, and one of those visits is to the New York Jets

Irvin will visit Tennessee, Buffalo, Cleveland, New England, New York (Jets) and Carolina in addition to meeting with officials from the Chiefs. Part of the reason for the multitude of in-person visits is Irvin's checkered past. The Atlanta native has had several run-ins with the law, starting at an early age:

John has highlighted the many needs the team are yet to address so far earlier today. Some of those needs the front office will feel more comfortable about addressing during the draft. From what we are hearing, outside linebacker is one of them. Bruce Irvin is a very interesting guy, who had a very tough upbringing with plenty of brushes with the law.

Is he a 4-3 defensive end or a 3-4 outside linebacker? honestly he could probably do a job at both but more suited to an outside linebacker. With 8.5 sacks last season he can get to the quarterback and is a natural pass rusher. He has good speed and good range. Never really been asked to play the run very much. He's not a first round talent but a little later back he may be interesting if we go in another direction in the first.
