Just because we are waist deep in free agency doesn't mean we can't take a step back and take a look at the draft. Pro days are flying in at the moment, players are either raising their stock or lowering their stock. If you have been following our twitter feed over the last week you would have seen we have confirmed some pro day attendances by Jets officials. These included: Louisiana Tech, Virginia, Clemson, USC, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Illinois, Richmond, Arkansas, Temple, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, Florida State, Central Michigan, Colorado, Oregon State, Cincinnati and Alabama amongst others. One notable absence, the Jets were one of two teams not to attend the Ohio State pro day (Gholston ghosts maybe)

Vontaze Burfict bombed at the combine, bombed during the interview process and now he bombed at his pro day. One scout told SI.com's Pauline that he felt bad for Burfict, that is how bad he was. Now I hate Vontaze's game, I think he is undisciplined, he takes awful angles, he is poor holding consignments, poor in coverage. He can hit like a ton of bricks, but he also has attitude problems and character issues. Good luck getting drafted.

Want to have a read about some players with first round talent that could drop to the 2nd round. Head over to National Football Post for a few guys. Mark Barron is a name there that many will be familiar with, you guys know I'm not his biggest fan but if we can grab him in the 2nd round I'm all for it. I just can't stand the thought of taking him at #16. He has talent, and if he drops to the middle of the second, sign me up.

CBS breaks down some prospects who impressed at the Cal Pro Day, and one guy that I really like there is DE Ernest Owusu who has played his college career in a 3-4 base defence. 39 reps on the 225lb bench press, 4.7 seconds in the 40 for a guy who is 6-4 and 277lb's. 7 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 2011, he is a guy as CBS points out that jumps off the tape.
