Ok, so i'm going to make this sweet and short. Obviously, Sanchez did not take care of business this year. I have been doing a lot of thinking about the quarterback position, and I can only come to one conclusion: Greg McElroy as the starter. I haven't heard many people talk about him, and i'm surprised nobody has more confidence in this kid. Look, I know he hasn't the strongest arm, but the kid knows how to win. I think there may be more to this kid than we think.
The reason I came to this conclusion? Well, first I asked myself "how did Sanchez get worse since last year?" The answer was he panicked and held on to the ball too long. Why did he do that? Because of poor O-line performance. Sure, if we get a good right tackle, chances are our line will be exceptional, but what happens if we don't? Sanchez will perform in the same mediocre manner that he did. This is where McElroy comes in. Now for some people, this is going to be a big jump. But if you watched the kid in preseason, he got lit-up. I mean really hit hard. And the kid had good outings in each game. What impressed me was his poise; the thing Sanchez seems to lack. The thing that cannot be taught.
I think McElroy has a great chance at starting next year
