Mark Sanchez named Jets starting QB for Week 14

Mark Sanchez will get another chance as the starting quarterback of the Jets against the woeful Jaguars.

Head coach Rex Ryan announced on Wednesday morning that indeed, Mark Sanchez is still the starting quarterback for his New York Jets, according to Kim Jones.

Despite having being pulled out of last week's game against the Arizona Cardinals in the second half in favor of Greg McElroy, Sanchez will have another opportunity to prove himself against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The move comes as somewhat of a surprise to many considering just how bad Sanchez was last weekend. He threw three interceptions and easily could have tossed a couple more, while not producing a single point. Once McElroy came in, the team gathered itself and scored a touchdown, the winning points of a 7-6 contest.

It's been a rough year by any measure for the Jets signal-caller. Sanchez has only completed 55 percent of his passes and has thrown more interceptions (13) than touchdowns (12).

It's unclear at this time if Tim Tebow or McElroy will be listed as the backup for Sunday.
