How He Fits (NYJ)

Margus Hunt is a monster of a man. I like to call him Estonian Executioner. At 6'8" 280 pounds, Hunt is one of the largest pass rushers coming out this April. One can say his physical ability out does the vaunted Ezekiel Ansah. They are similar in that they are giant lumps of clay just waiting to be molded into big play, NFL pass rushers. Before his entrance to the football world 4 years ago, Hunt was an Estonian track star. That speed and burst are obvious when you see him blow past his blockers, and sprint toward the QB. He is on the passer very quickly. My dream scenario with Hunt would be Coples at LE, Hunt at LDT, Ellis at RDT, and Wilkerson at RDE. In 3-4 sets, he can be rotated in and out with Coples.

In 2013, the Jets will be retooling in our front 7. There is a good chance we will be without Calvin Pace, Bryan Thomas, Bart Scott, and Mike DeVito. Wilkerson and Coples look like they will be pan out to be decent linemen for us. Unfortunately, they can't do it alone. If the Giants have taught us anything, it is that you can never have too many pass rushers. We will have to wait and see what kind of defense we will be running next year, but Hunt can be a factor in either defense. We can put him as a 5- technique in the 3-4, or at any position along the left side of a 4-3 defense. His speed and power makes him a matchup nightmare. As I mentioned above, he was a world class track star. He is more than capable of running a sub 4.7 40. I can see Margus going into the combine, and turning heads.

Player Comparison

I am not really good with player comparisons. If I had to pick someone, I would say he is a bigger and faster J.J. Watt. Watt was way more polished coming out of college, but both have the same monstrous athletic ability to disrupt plays. I think it would be easier to compare him to fast moving glacier.
