Saturday Night Football Open Thread

Leon Halip

We have a rare Saturday night NFL game tonight. The Falcons head to Detroit. At the start of the year, it felt like this would be a game that would have big meaning for both teams. The Falcons held up their end of the bargain. The Lions have not. They couldn't even beat Arizona last week.

If you are interested at all in the NFC Playoff picture, this game has some meaning. A Falcons win clinches the top seed and homefield advantage for Atlanta throughout the NFC Playoffs and starts three weeks of questions about whether they can finally break their postseason hex.

The Lions are playing for pride. They haven't shown much fight lately. Maybe they can make an effort this week and try to end a lost season on a slightly less bitter note. On paper this doesn't look like much of a game, but logic frequently takes a holiday in the NFL.

Leave your thoughts on the game below if you are watching.
