According to several beat reporters, rookie WR Stephen Hill has been placed on injured reserve. Hill was suffering from a knee sprain from the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In his place, the Jets have signed CB Donnie Fletcher to replace his spot on the active roster.
Thus ends a disappointing season from the second round rookie project. He had a great start to the year, catching two touchdowns in the victory over the Buffalo Bills, but was virtually silent through the rest of the year. He suffered from hamstring, and now a knee, injury. His most infamous moment was his dropped pass against the New England Patriots that could have set up a game-winning touchdown. Hill certainly flashed some potential through the year but ended up showing how raw he truly was, which we knew when he was drafted. His stats for the year are as follows:
- 11 Games Played
- 21 Receptions
- 252 Yards
- 3 Touchdowns
Let's hope he heals quickly from his knee sprain, because he's going to need some work during his first full offseason.
