The Jets fell to 3-6 today after a 28-7 loss to the Seahawks. Through the first half of the season, the formula has been simple, mediocre defense, costly special teams miscues at the worst possible moment, and putrid offense. The Jets were unwilling or unable to change what did not work in the first eight games.
Right before the bye, the Jets faced a must-win game. They played their worst game. They had two weeks to correct things for even more of a must-win game. They played just as poorly. It's tough to tell how much of it is on the coaching staff, or whether this team is just too flawed to be fixed.
Even if they win out, there is no guarantee the Jets would make the Playoffs. If they do not win out, it is almost guaranteed they won't. If this team is to make any kind of run, something dramatic needs to happen to change things.
The team has one last card to play that could dramatically change the dynamics of how this team operates. You know what it is. I know what it is. It's time to make the change at quarterback. Nobody can say Mark Sanchez gives this team a better chance to win than Tim Tebow. Mark Sanchez doesn't give this team a better chance to win than anybody. He might be the worst starting quarterback in the NFL.
Mourn below. The official recap will be up later.
