Despite the loss, we are still giving out a game ball this week. My choice is LaDainian Tomlinson. The veteran back put up a big game in defeat. He led the Jets with 5 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. He also picked up 38 yards on the ground in only 6 carries.
His 74 yard catch and run in the first quarter set up New York's first touchdown. He made a catch in traffic, broke a few tackles and took off down the field, almost going the distance. In the second quarter, he got open and hauled in an 18 yard touchdown reception to give the Jets the lead.
Tomlinson has flourished so far in his new role. The reduced workload seems to be keeping him fresh. He has become a staple of the offense as a receiving back. The Jets try to isolate him with linebackers, which has proven to create mismatches in most cases.
Who gets your game ball?
