Todd Heap Signs With Arizona Cardinals

Despite the Jets' best efforts, former Ravens tight end Todd Heap signed with the Cardinals.

UPDATE: Heap agreed to terms on a two-year, $5.5 million deal with the Cardinals, according to a source. Ryan & Co. had visions of a two-headed tight end attack with Heap and Dustin Keller. Ryan was on the Baltimore staff for eight seasons while Heap was there.

That is too bad. Heap and Keller could have done fun things together. I guess a silver lining is that signing Heap would have given Brian Schottenheimer another potential personnel package to complicate and overthink things with. Then again, he was sending out Ben Hartsock and Robert Turner on passing routes last year. Heap certainly would have been better. It just goes to show. You hear about how people really want to play for Rex Ryan. Some really do, but there are a lot of factors that go into a decision, many of which are more important, namely money.
