Manish Mehta says on Twitter that the Jets are not going to go after Braylon Edwards or Brodney Pool.
I've been told #Jets aren't bringing back Braylon Edwards. #NYJ likes him, but they don't have $$ to re-sign him. Source: "It won't happen"
#Jets simply can't afford to keep safety Brodney Pool. He will get a more lucrative deal elsewhere.
This is frankly tough to believe. I find it hard to imagine these guys combined would cost more than Nnamdi Asomugha. The real story seem to be that the Jets simply do not want these guys back.
I do not think they will go elsewhere because they have been "disrespected" as some seem to feel. I think there is a reason the Jets took care of David Harris and Santonio Holmes before going after Nnamdi Asomugha. Harris and Holmes were the top priorities. The other guys were not. The team clearly views them as expendable. I will have more on this later
My preference would have been to keep both. The Jets just think they use the money it would take to improve the team in other ways. We will have to wait and see what they have planned.
