The Jets have released quarterback Kevin O'Connell, the second Jets quarterback of the day to bite the dust.
One can only guess this indicates Mark Brunell will be coming back since O'Connell would have been perhaps the interal favorite to take over as the backup. O'Connell's tenure in New York was unremarkable. The Jets traded for him partly to play head games with the Patriots before a Week 2 2009 game and get some insider information. He never developed the way they wanted and was cut, got hurt, and resigned last year to rehab under team supervision. I guess that money was down the drain.
Hopefully soon we get to the main event and past these peripheral moves.
