Let us take a moment away from the hot stove insanity to talk about Fantasy Football. This year Yahoo Sports is sponsoring fantasy football for Gang Green Nation and SB Nation. I thus ask you to forget anything nice I said about competitors in past years, and embrace the awesomeness that is Yahoo Fantasy Football.

I have been asked to inform you of the following things:

  • Yahoo! Sports is the leading fantasy provider on the Internet, home to nearly 5 million fans playing the #1 fantasy football game available – all for free!
  • Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football '11 is easy to use, with mock drafts, player comparisons features, and numerous customization options. Plus Yahoo! Sports offers superior stability, especially during drafts and games (Yahoo! Sports fantasy football doesn't drop the ball)
  • Yahoo! Sports fantasy football provides fans with top-notch information, resources, and expert advice. From player notes to injury updates to Fantasy Football Live (http://fantasysports.yahoo.com/ffl) – Yahoo! Sports helps you win big.
  • Fantasy football is the original social network, it is the way friends stayed connected over football no matter where they were, Yahoo! Sports  continues the tradition by letting fans talk smack talk, check'in, and chat on newly launched message boards.
  • Fantasy football isn't newspapers and fax machines anymore, fans are on the go and Yahoo! Sports lets fantasy football users manage their teams no matter where they are via mobile phones, iPads (new this year), and other mobile devices.
  • In all seriousness, I like Yahoo's product a lot. It's the server I use when I play against my friends.

Like the past two years, we'll have a GGN league. There will be a lottery to get into the main league against me. Last year's champion would have an automatic spot, but I was last year's champion.

Yahoo's product is free, though, so I say let's not just limit ourselves to one league. I will be in the main league, and there will be a lottery for that one. I say let's set up as many leagues as we need so that every GGN member who wants to play can play. GangGreenMag is planning something for GGN readers to compete against readers of other sites.
