Some Details on Santonio Holmes' Deal

Details are emerging about Santonio Holmes' contract to stay in New York. Manish Mehta has the word.

The Jets made its first big splash during free agency by locking up Santonio Holmes to a five-year contract. The Daily News first reported on Twitter Wednesday morning that the dynamic wide receiver agreed to terms on a five-year deal. Holmes will earn about $24 million in guaranteed money, according to source.

Adam Schein says Holmes decided to take less money to stay a Jet. Money is important. He would not have likely stayed had he been offered the league minimum. I think it's great, though, that he wants to be a Jet enough to not chase every last dollar. I always say I'll believe a guy not chasing every last dollar when I see it. We apparently just saw it. I think its a credit to the culture Rex Ryan has created.

Hat tip to The Jets Blog on that one.
