The official team website is conducting a contest on Facebook for the play of the 2010 season for the Jets.
Jerricho Cotchery and Antonio Cromartie look to have secured wins in the offensive and defensive POY categories respectively. J-Co’s "Play Like a Jet" grab in overtime at Cleveland got him 52 percent of the vote from fans and that has given him a comfortable cushion over Santonio Holmes. The latter WR sits in second place with 24 percent of the vote garnered for his thrilling OT game-winner later in that same Week 10 contest.
In somewhat of a surprise, Cromartie is trouncing the field on the defensive side. His momentum-turning interception of Tom Brady in Week 2, while locking down Randy Moss, has earned him 77 percent of the fan vote. Jason Taylor’s safety at Pittsburgh stands in second place, but that key two-pointer got only 10 percent of the fan vote.
These are for regular season plays. The Cotchery play was one of the guttiest you will ever see, but Holmes' electric catch and run actually won that game. Cotchery's grab only resulted in a drive that netted no points. I would throw Dwight Lowery's touchdown interception against the Vikings in the mix on the defensive side.
