Chad Pennington to Work as FOX Game Analyst in 2011

If there is a season, former Jets quarterback Chad Pennington will be working from the broadcast booth instead of on the field.

"I'm actually going to take this year off, get healthy and do some work for Fox Sports," Pennington told an audience at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet in Charleston, W.Va. "I'm going to evaluate things and see where I am physically."

Pennington has suffered two season ending shoulder injuries and a torn ACL in the past two years.

It is sad the way injuries have decimated his career. By all accounts, Chad is one of the most genuinely good people in the. Before his rotator cuff was ripped to shreds, he looked like he was on his way to a special career. Even after that, he had some very good seasons.

A lot of people have said that Chad is smart enough and a hard enough worker to be a good coach. I think this will translate well to the booth. He only terms it as a year off and not a retirement. This really could be it, though. Perhaps he wants to go out on his own terms, but it might be best for him to hang it up after all of the injuries he has suffered.
