I am only predicting two defensive free agents the Jets will not resign. One is a fan favorite.
Shaun Ellis: I do not think the longest tenured Jet will be back. He has wanted a long term deal for a while now. The team has been unwilling to oblige. I do not expect that to happen now with so many key free agents to resign. The fact the Jets invested so heavily in young defensive linemen during the Draft will not make this more likely either. There is going to be a market for a defensive end coming off a good year who has made the Pro Bowl at the position in both 3-4 and 4-3 base defenses.
Lance Laury: All I have to go on is the fact the Jets did not offer him a one year tender even though he led the team in 2010 in tackles on special teams.
