We have been flooded with recent stories of Jets planning to work out together. Apparently the defensive linemen are planning to meet up.
Sione Pouha and Mike DeVito told The Associated Press today they plan to gather in New Jersey sometime next week with the team's other defensive linemen, including Ropati Pitoitua and possibly first-round pick Muhammad Wilkerson and third-rounder Kenrick Ellis.
This kind of meeting would be particularly significant since the top two Draft picks the Jets made were defensive linemen. Meeting with veteran teammates can be a big help to them with both understanding their role in the defense and getting pointers on playing in the pros. These guys are missing out on coaching so the veteran guys can teach them about familiar opponents, the kind of work they will need to put in off the field, drills to do, and proper technique to use to gain leverage against opponents.
